Free Online Homeschooling Program # 1

First up – a very popular online homeschooling program called Easy Peasy All in One Homeschool. If you’ve done any research on online homeschooling curriculums, you’ve probably heard of this one. This is a completely free Christian based homeschool program that can be used as your entire homeschool curriculum, from elementary all the way through high school.

And if you’re not into Christian Curriculum, I wouldn’t worry too much. Unless you’re totally against it, this online homeschooling program is wonderful and is not overly focused on religion. You can obviously just skip the bible study portion if you want. That’s the beauty of homeschooling! While it is completely free, they do, of course, welcome donations, which helps them to keep it free for those who really cannot afford it.

Even though they call it Easy Peasy, it can be a little confusing to get started. They do have a walkthrough of the site that you can try before signing up, which helps explain how it all works.

A lot of the lessons require your child to click links that go to other websites. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with that, unless you happen to have a kid who can’t always figure out how to get back to the window they were working in. They also have a placement test which is nice for parents to help you figure out what level your child is at and where they should start.

Once you get set up, your child can log in and view their daily lessons. When they complete a lesson, they click a button and then you as the parent are in charge of marking their lessons complete. Once you mark the whole day complete, the next days lessons will be available. I have a full video out on my YouTube channel on Easy Peasy All in One Homeschool, so make sure to check it out!

Khan Academy

The next free online homeschooling program we’re going to talk about today is Khan Academy. This is a totally free learning website for all students, not just homeschoolers. For a free website, you might be surprised at how advanced Khan Academy actually is. It is run by a non-profit organization that does accept donations, which helps them to run their website and keep it free for everyone.

** Don’t forget to get your Teacher Club Card for only $2.99 a year for access to over 14,000 printables to use in your homeschool – created by teachers!

Khan academy offers courses in math, language arts, science, computers, test prep and more, all for zero cost. Unlike some other free online homeschooling programs, there are a lot of great analytics and tools for parents. Getting that parent account set up can be a little complicated, however. I do have a full video of Khan Academy on my YouTube channel that you can check out for more information and a walkthrough on getting set up.

Overall, if you’re looking for something that resembles some of the paid online homeschooling programs, but without the “paid” part, Khan Academy is a great choice. Just keep in mind that it is not specifically designed for homeschoolers the way that the other programs on this list are. So it’s a bit of a learning curve to understand how it can be used for homeschooling.

For math, I think it’s wonderful and can be used for your entire curriculum if you choose. For language arts, they don’t have a full curriculum just yet, so you will probably need something additional for this subject. But if you take a look, you will see they have a lot of interesting subjects that can certainly add value to your homeschooling curriculum.

They also have a new AI tutor called Khanmigo. While this is not free, it can be a great addition to the curriculum at only $4. I have a full video on my YouTube channel about the Khanmigo AI tutor, so be sure to check that out!

Free Online Homeschooling Program #3 – Discovery K12

The third free online homeschooling program on our list today is Discovery K12. Not to be confused with K12.com, which is an online public school, Discovery K12 is a completely free, secular online homeschooling program for students from PreK through 12th grade.

They offer 180 days of assignments in all of the subjects you would expect from a homeschool program, including math, grammar, reading, and science. For each grade level, there are daily lessons, which your child can complete at their own pace. They also have special courses such as Spanish, computer coding, personal finance, and business.

Reading Eggs - Learn to Read - 30 day free trial - Watch your child’s confidence, motivation, and progress skyrocket in just 15 minutes a day with a FREE 30-day trial of Reading Eggs!

One thing to note about Discovery K12 is that if you want to have a parent account with reporting and other tools, you will have to pay for it. It costs $99 per year for this access. But it’s definitely not required. You can still have your child use Discovery K12 for their entire online homeschooling curriculum without ever paying a penny.

They offer a library of free ebooks which your child can use to complete daily reading assignments. Just like with Easy Peasy All in One Homeschool, Discovery K12 does link to outside websites, including YouTube. So just something to keep in mind.

CK-12 Free Learning Website

The next free online homeschooling program on our list is a completely free online learning website called CK12.org. And unlike the other programs on this list, I hadn’t heard of this one until recently. This is another non profit company dedicated to providing quality educational materials for all students, and you can get access to all of their amazing online resources completely free.

CK-12 has so much to offer, it took my awhile to really explore their website and get familiar with all their offerings. They have learning resources for math, science, language arts, social studies and more, including videos, interactive lessons, practice tools, and even an AI tutor called Flexi that is also 100% free.

I honestly wish I had known about the CK-12 website sooner, because they have some wonderful resources. You’ll find a complete math and science curriculum and some really fun interactive tools. They even have physics and chemistry simulations you can try to really explore different science concepts such as sound waves.

Ambleside Online Homeschooling Program

Last on our list of completely free online homeschooling programs is Ambleside Online. This is a free online homeschooling program using the Charlotte Mason method. Since this method relies heavily on books, much of the value in this website is that they link to as many free online resources as possible, so you should not need to purchase many materials. You will need a separate math curriculum and foreign language curriculum. Khan Academy or CK-21 would be a good choice for math. For children who are not yet able to read, you may need a phonics program as well.

Other than that, Ambleside online provides everything you need to educate your child in the Charlotte Mason method all the way through graduating High School. They offer free printable planners to help you plan your year, and a complete list of readings week by week for the whole school year. Remember, this curriculum is very different than what many people think of as “school” so make sure you understand the Charlotte Mason method before deciding to use this online homeschooling program.

I have a full video on my YouTube channel that you can check out for more information on Ambleside Online.
